Our Despatch and Delivery -

We aim to pick, pack and despatch orders placed up until 10pm, the next working day. As we are a very small family run business, sometime it may take a little longer. It is always our intention to ship your order as soon as we can - this does not apply to the Charity Doddie Ducks, but now things have slowed in their uptake, it is much easier for us to process those orders in a more timely manner.

  • Doddie Ducks - Royal Mail Tracked 48 - IMPORTANT NOTE, Royal Mail Tracked 48 is from when Royal Mail receive parcel, please see notes in sales particulars regarding despatch times for this product. As we buy the specific boxes to pack the Doddie Ducks in, we have to pass that cost on, this is why the price is slightly higher than the regular Royal Mail Tracked 48. If you would like to combine delivery with another product, please contact us at sales@winterspringsummerandfall.co.uk and we will advise how to check out incorporating the Charity Doddie Ducks. 
  • Expedited Shipping Small Parcel - Royal Mail Tracked 24. Usually despatched next working day if order received before 10pm, delivery 2-3 working days including despatch time  £7.50 ** Currently unavailable.
  • Standard Shipping Small Parcel - Royal Mail Tracked 48. Despatched within 2 working days (usually ships next working day if order received before 10pm), delivery 3-5 working days including despatch time. £6.35 **
  • Expedited Shipping Medium Parcel - Royal Mail Tracked 24. Usually despatched next working day (if order received by 10pm), delivery 2-3 working days including despatch time. £8.50 ** Currently unavailable.
  • Standard Shipping Medium Parcel - Royal Mail Tracked 48. Despatched within 2 working days (usually ships next working day if order received before 10pm), delivery 3-5 working days including despatch time. £7.35 **
  • Large/Heavy Item Shipping - Parcel Force Express 48. Despatch 2 working days (usually ships next working day if order received by 10pm), delivery 2-4 working days. From £15.20 to £18.20. ***

 

  • Combined items - our postage fees are based on one or two standard items fitting into a small or medium sized postal box/bag, when you order high multiples or a number of items in variable sizes this can take the shipping over the size of parcel, in this case we reserve the right to invoice you for the increased shipping cost. Orders will be processed once shipping fees are paid. 

 

  • From time to time there will be items listed on the website which may require a different postage price due to size or weight or require to be despatched via courier, in this case delivery will be discussed at point of order and the best method and price will be agreed. Should you choose to appoint a courier on your behalf to collect the goods, we will not be held liable for any damage in transit or non delivery.

 

  • IN STORE COLLECTION ONLY orders, generally we put the big things on the website so our local customers can see what we have in stock, We know however sometimes our goodies will be loved far and wide, so where you see ‘In store collection only’ and you would really love to have the piece, get in touch and we can see what we can do.

*Small Parcel - is deemed by Royal Mail to be 0-2KG in weight and dimensions = max length 45cm, max width 35cm, max depth 16cm.

*Medium Parcel - is deemed by Royal Mail to be 0-20kg in weight and dimensions = max length 61cm, max width 46cm, max depth 46cm, however for the purposes of this pricing matrix the maximum weight for a medium parcel is 2kg.

**Royal Mail Tracked 24 - normally arrives 1-2 business days from collection and is tracked. Royal Mail Tracked 48 - normally arrives in 2-3 business days from collection and is tracked. 

***Parcel Force Tracked 48 usually arrives 1-2 business days from collection and is tracked, the price is incremental by weight. Individual parcels can weigh up to 30kg. Parcels can be up to 1.5 meters in length and the length and girth combined should not exceed more than 3 meters.

Fair delivery/Transparent Pricing - Independent Retailers -

Much as I’d love to offer you free delivery, I think we all know there’s no such thing as a free lunch, well very rarely anyway. Usually retailers incorporate the cost of P&P into the product and the ones who don’t - I flipping well would LOVE to know the secret because generous as I am, I’m not that generous! 

So after trawling the internet, gleaning information from fellow small business chaps and searching everywhere (including my soul), I have to come clean and tell you, I just can’t afford to give free shipping, sorry! I will from time to time perhaps offer free shipping or reduced rates but in all honesty I would like my business to thrive and so there it is, postage and packaging costs money.

While I’m being honest with you, I’d like to also mention packaging.......now I love when a beautifully wrapped package arrives, part of the experience is the beauty of its presentation, much as I aspire to package your purchases with all the flourish and grace of Rowan Atkinson in Love Actually, adorning the product with ribbon and a spritz of unicorn tears - it ain’t happening! The reasons being - A. I have a mad collection of ‘good’ cardboard boxes, you know the ones I mean, something arrives and you think to yourself, I’m not parting with this baby, its too good to put in the blue bin and B. I’m thinking of our planet, trying to do my bit to offset the fact I’m a dyed in the wool carnivore. So it is possible orders from us may be in a box I’ve previously been sent products in and any filler/bubble wrap will also have been salvaged for reuse. Items will always be packed with love and care.

Orders will usually be despatched or ready for collection by next working day (excluding weekends and bank holidays), but we are all human, have families, commitments, days where staying under the duvet is best for you and those you might encounter and so sometimes that the next working day deadline may not be physically possible, however we will endeavour to process your orders and get them out as quickly as possible.
If you need something urgently - if you have for example forgotten to get a card/gift for your mother in law/spouse/partner/great aunt Isa, please get in touch and we will try to expedite a faster turnaround (if we aren’t under the duvet). Please see above re timings for receiving orders and despatch.

Please note the exception to the next working day despatch turnaround is the charity Doddie Ducks, these are picked, packed and despatch as and when time allows and time is not of the essence for despatch of this charity product. 

Click & Collect - 

You may choose to order and pay online and collect your purchase from the shop and that’s cool, it will be lovely to see you. Just select the collect from store option and we will get your order ready to collect (the whole next working day thing as above) You can put it in the comments when might be a suitable date/time for collection of your goodies and we will confirm via email, or drop us an email with your preferred date/time for collection. You must bring your order confirmation and ID - I know hundreds, if not thousands of your names/faces, but unless you are a family member or we go out drinking regularly together, or we had a fight in the dinner hall in Primary 1, I might know your face but not your name or vice versa and those teeny wee social media pictures where we all look our best or there’s a picture of your pet schauzer, Pickles, dont help. 

We will hold your orders for 7 calendar days following your confirmed collection date, if you haven’t made it in to collect the goods and haven’t been in contact to say that you are under the duvet or sunning yourself in the Maldives, your card will be refunded and the products put back into stock, apologies, we just don't have the space. PLEASE NOTE a 5% restocking fee will apply to help cover the costs to us from a payment processing/platform fee point.

Cost of P&P - 

So onto the nitty gritty - the cost - I’d like to just mention a wee thing called P&P, the price you see printed on the postage label only accounts for the part where the Royal Mail people take hold of the parcel and hopefully give it to you - there is packaging (I know, I know, I said we would use ones we’ve been sent stuff in, but sometimes we need to buy specific packaging or filler) then there’s the printing of the packing slip and of the RM label and tape to close the parcel safely and adhere the label, then there is the % charge by Shopify to cover the platform fees - retailers do not make money on P&P I promise.

Shipping/Delivery Info Fragile Items -

  • IMPORTANT - Fragile/Delicate/Breakable Products -Please note there are NO couriers/postal delivery companies who insure glass, ceramic, resin, porcelain, china, earthenware, concrete, stone or composites of any of the afore mentioned for damage in transit. Should you require delivery of any such item, it is at your own risk, I cannot take responsibility and cannot compensate if your products are damaged in transit. Every care will be taken to package and protect your order, our packing station is monitored by CCTV and therefore you can be assured the goods will leave our care as they should. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Delayed Delivery -

In case of a delayed delivery please contact us with your name, order number and full address and we will look straight into it for you.

However please know, if we have despatched your parcel into the care of Royal Mail, I cannot tell you anything different to what is on the wee screen where you go to Track My Delivery. Royal Mail cannot tell me anything more from their end either even if I call them, it really is a case of ‘computer says ……’ and we have to wait and see. Delayed delivery is deemed by Royal Mail to be 10 working days after expected delivery date. 

Delivered when you are not at home?

The carrier we use will leave you a card letting you know that a delivery has been attempted. The card should have detailed instructions informing you on how to obtain your parcel. You will have 7 days from the date of attempted delivery to rearrange delivery, after this date items will automatically be returned to us. If the item is returned to us in this way, we will need to charge again for postage before sending the item out again. We will contact you first. To avoid delays in delivering your parcel, we recommend having your item shipped to your daytime address (for example, your work address). Please note we DO NOT authorise Royal Mail to leave parcels in a safe place and we cannot be held liable for non delivery if you request safe space delivery.

Overseas Postage and the rest of the World - 

At this time sadly we cannot deliver outwith the United Kingdom.

We hope that you love your purchase, but if for any reason it’s not right, please don’t hesitate to send it back to the address below for either a refund or exchange within 14 working days of delivery.

Returned items should be adequately insured during the return journey with proof of postage, Royal Mail Recorded or Special Delivery. Return postage costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the item is faulty.

Please ensure that your unwanted product is in its original packaging and in resalable condition. Original delivery costs will not be refunded.

On the rare occasion that your product is faulty please send your item back for a full refund including delivery costs.
