Back to where it all began!

Well it’s been a hot minute since I closed the website to move into our new (old) shop! What should have taken a couple of weeks, turned into a couple of months but we are back online and ready to post - well at least until Oct 6th as Im taking a short break from the shop until Oct 20th, the physical shops will remain open but with some changes to the opening hours.

We started off in Sept 2017 at No.30 Bank Street and grew and grew until we burst into the other store we have on Bank Street at No.41. We are now back at No.30 and have extended through the wall into No.31. Confusing I know.

No. 41 Bank Street is where our clearance items are, you will find great bargains with the majority of stock being half price or less. We are also making it into a Christmas Shop for the foreseeable future, this shop may have variable opening hours and so keep an eye on the socials for opening times.

No. 30-31 Bank Street is now where our Jellycat collection resides. We also have beautiful gifts and homewares alongside serving takeaway coffee and ice cream (see below for details).

No. 30-31 is usually open Monday to Saturday 10am - 5pm (last coffee/ice cream 4.30pm). Here you will find our large range of Jellies, more than we have online. Sadly we cannot post our in store Jellies out, we have a separate system for our online stock and never the twain shall meet.

Due to the reduced floor space we rotate our stock and so there should always be a couple of new ones every few days. We usually only replenish our sold stock at the end of the working day and so it really is worth paying a visit.

We also have the delicious home fragrance range by St. Eval, some wonderful seasonal home decor as well as everyday loveliness to make your house a home.

Recently I have sourced some really fabulous children’s wear by Blade & Rose and BabyMac as well as wooden toys by Trixie and these will be added to the website in the coming weeks.

So if you are local then it is always worth visiting if you are looking for high quality gifts or things for the home.

THE ORIGINAL - Doddie Waistcoat Duckling, stands around 18cm, is hand carved from sustainable bamboo root and has a hand painted waistcoat in The My Name’5 Doddie Foundation tartan. Our Doddie Ducklings come complete with a cotton name tag ‘My name’5 Doddie’, this cheeky fella cuts a handsome figure and is a real tribute to the late, great Doddie Weir. Please be aware as the characters are individually hand made, poses may vary from the photos.

We are incredibly grateful to DCUK (The Original Wooden Duck Company) who helped facilitate the development of the Doddie Duck products which have been a fantastic fundraiser for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.

DCUK have now taken the baton and I believe are looking to work with the Foundation to further fundraise and raise awareness of Motor Neurone Disease (MND). 

“WEIR ALL IN THIS TOGETHER” - Winter Spring Summer & Fall being only a wee family run independent business has only a small organic reach, I think I had exhausted my channels for selling the ducks and although they do sell via our shop and online, the sales have slowed. We are therefore over the moon and hugely grateful to DCUK for taking a number of the Doddie Ducks to sell via their much larger platform. The benefit of this is it not only raises funds, it raises the profile of The Foundation and increases awareness of the fight to tackle MND. As the tag line goes ‘Weir all in this together”!

My Name’5 Doddie 

The foundation was set up in 2017 after local (to us) former Scotland and British & Irish Lions rugby legend Doddie Weir was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

To date the foundation has raised and given millions of pounds to those affected by MND and is making some real headway into research of the disease thanks to your support.
In July 2022 the Foundation published their research strategy announcement where together with Costello Medical they will develop a ‘Roadmap to Cure’ you can find out more about other developments, progress and how to help by checking in regularly to www.myname5doddie.co.uk or follow them on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

VERY IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ - The Doddie Waitcoat Ducklings come in a custom shipping box which fit only two per box for £6.45. If you would like more than two, please drop us an email and we can facilitate the order.

APPLE PAY/GOOGLE PAY - important note - please make sure the delivery cost of £6.45 is added to the total before checking out. Sometimes faster payment has a glitch which passes the order though without adding delivery, I have tried to limit this by removing the in store collection option but as yet Im unsure if this will end the glitch. 

All profits from the sale of the wee wooden wonders via Winter Spring Summer & Fall goes to the charitable foundation My Name’5 Doddie.

IMPORTANT NOTICE - Time is not of the essence for despatch of the Doddie Duck products since we are a small in number business (just me and three staff members). I will endeavour but cannot guarantee all orders to be shipped within 3 working days, please note the 48hr Tracked Royal Mail service commences when Royal Mail have the shipment. We do try to ship as soon as possible and will always try to help ship faster if needed as a gift.

OUR BEAUTIFUL TOWN

Bank Street Gardens

Why don’t you sit a while in our beautiful gardens. We are so lucky to be situated opposite the Bank Street Gardens, once allotments for the houses opposite which were above the shops of the street, the gardens were donated to the town and converted to formal gardens just after the Second World War. There is a fabulous little ice cream and coffee take away place, Affogato Joe’s within Winter Spring Summer & Fall at No.30 Bank Street serving coffee Roasted on Bank Street by Luckie Beans and the famous Giacopazzi’s of Eyemouth ice cream. Grab some deliciousness and head over to one of the benches in the gardens to watch the world go by.
